The Rajasthan government is to resolve the long-pending issue of the 47-km Ring Road project to connect Ajmer, Tonk and Agra. The State government is likely to increase the compensation to farmers for their land acquired for the road project.
The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) earlier decided to provide farmers an option to choose from returning 25 per cent of the developed land or monetary compensation.
However, farmers have resisted the move as they want a definite compensation for their acquired land. The State government is planning to increase the compensation by 5 per cent and taking it to 30 per cent.
The JDA will prepare a proposal in this regard and send it to the State government for approval. The JDA will also look into the possibility of returning the access land, official sources said.
