From February 1, the shipping rates for containers from the Indian subcontinent would be raised by Hapag-Lloyd.

The liner considers to raise the rate by $250 per Twenty Foot Equivalent Unit (TEU) for transporting boxes from the Indian subcontinent – India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka to North Europe and the Mediterranean.

Besides, the company plans to effect changes in its terminal-handling charge for full-container load exports from Doha, Qatar.

It also proposes to change equipment maintenance fee for Singapore, as well as revisions to the bunker surcharge, currency adjustment factor and similar fees for service to or from North Europe, the Mediterranean and the Black Sea, and South Africa and West Africa.
