The Himachal Pradesh High Court verdict to set aside state and Centre´s recommendations to allot multi-billion smart city project to Dharamshala, earlier approved to this capital town, forced the opposition BJP to its train gun on the Congress.
BJP blamed Union Urban Development Minister Sudhir Sharma who pressed hard the bureaucracy to shift this project from Shimla to Dharmshala, presenting fudged figures.
In a multi-corner assault lodged across the state by BJP leaders, it was alleged that Union Urban Development ministry has been misled by the Minister to shift this project from Shimla to Dharmshala as he put his political weight behind the entire exercise.
Smart City project launched by PM Narendra Modi as national flagship programme was initially announced for Shimla town alone. However the project was later declared for Dharamshala, dropping it from this town after fudging figures.
