Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai airports rated high by ACI

India’s Delhi and Hyderabad airports managed by GMR Group and Mumbai airport by GVK Group have been rated high in respective categories in Airport Quality Service (ASQ) by Airports Council International (ACI) for 2012. The Indira Gandhi International airport at Delhi and Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Hyderabad, both managed by GMR Infrastructure have secured second positions in respective categories.

Delhi International Airport (DIAL), operator of India’s busiest Indira Gandhi International Airport has been ranked second in 25-40 million passengers per annum (MPPA) category. HyderabadÂ’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, operated and managed by GMR Hyderabad International Airport, has also been adjudged as the second best airport in the world for the same year, in the 5-15 MPPA category.

Likewise, the GVK Group managed Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA), Mumbai has emerged as one of the top-performing airports. For the second consecutive year, CSIA was rated third best worldwide in the 25-40 million passengers per annum category. The survey was conducted at 275 airports across the globe.

MIAL is currently implementing a master plan to build an all new integrated terminal, T2, designed to cater to 40 million passengers annually. When completed, it will be a four-level integrated terminal with an area of around 4,39,000 sq mt and will include new taxiways and apron areas for aircraft parking.
