In Hyderabad, motorists travelling to Charminar from areas such as Phoolbagh would become a smooth ride as the process for the much awaited road widening work along the Zohrabi Dargah-DRDL junction stretch has begun. Bottlenecks along the stretch will now be cleared giving way to an 80-feet wide road.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Town Planning officials said that around 330 notices have been sent to an equal number of property owners informing them that their properties will be acquired for the road widening project.
A GHMC officials said that 70 property owners have agreed even as he noted that the affected property owners would be given a good compensation. The road will be passing through Rakshapuram, Kunwarwadi and Moinbagh. Motorists welcomed the move and said that the wide road would significantly cut down travel time.
