Imports have not exactly been a roaring success, and the coal ministry is not entirely in favour of Coal India importing coal from abrÂoad, and if at all necessary, lower price and good quality would be major paraÂmeters for it. The Indonesia experience, wherein the quality of imported coal was not up to expectations, has triggered this watchfulness. Coal India has been scouting for mine acqÂuisitions in the US, Australia and Indonesia.
