During his recent visit to Chennai, Ambassador of Israel Alon Ushpiz took a visit to IDE´s 100 million liters per day (MLD) Nemelli desalination plant. The plant, designed by MECON, was built by IDE Technologies (Israel) together with local Indian partner on EPC basis with a seven years operation and maintenance contract awarded by end client CMWSSB to IDE consortium.
Accompanied by Consul General of the Israeli Consulate in Bangalore Menahem Kanafi, the Ambassador received a comprehensive briefing on the plant and the technology of reverse-osmosis desalination from IDE India marketing Head, Sanjeev Sharma.
The Ambassador had a close look at intake chambers, disc filters, ultra filtration skids and RO section including control room and saw the operation of the complete plant.
