Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) plans to develop the world’s best logistics park in collaboration with Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) and has engaged a consultant for this purpose.
The trust decided to offer 100 acre land and to invest money if needed, while DFC will provide the technology for the project. The logistics park and the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, which is proposed to end at JNPT, would mean further hinterland growth and JNPT would like to take advantage both of the real estate as well as development of manufacture.
JNPT's Special Economic Zone (SEZ) is another part of the port's land development plans this year. The port is developing 3,000 acre, and plans to go to the market with about 700 acre initially and then gradually ramp it up.
