Gujarat-based Kandla Port Trust said that it was providing the "highest level of service" to its users and urged importers and exporters to continue to patronise it.
The port assured all its users, customers, container lines, container vessel operators and Exim trade in general, based both in India and overseas that it is "fully geared and equipped in all respects" to handle container vessels and container yard operations from the date of taking over the container terminal without any interruption or disruption in operation.
Some reports indicate that the port is taking efforts to attract some of the traffic which, in recent past, went to Mundra and elsewhere.
Meanwhile, the port authority plans to engage a contractor for development of common corridor in the backup of the 11th and 12th berths.
