The Kerala government is striving to operationalise the Kannur international airport by December 2015. Kerala Minister for Excise and Ports K Babu said that the third phase of land acquisition process for the proposed international airport in Kannur has begun. Work on runway will begin in October once the land acquisition process completes, Babu said. In the third phase, a total of 783 acre needed be to be acquired and for this, Rs 310 crore was required.
