To develop Nun Kun base camp in Kargil as an international tourist destination, the
Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) has initiated measures. And as part of the task, LAHDC’s executive council on December 8 visited base camp of Nun Kun peak.
Hundreds of mountaineers from other states and abroad make expeditions on the peak of Nun Kun base camp in Kargil. It is situated at an altitude of 7,135 metre with minus 28 degree celsius at its base camp.
To provide easy access to tourists, the LAHDC proposes to make motorable road from Tangole village to base camp and generate employment for labourers and pony owners.
