Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Monday told the media that the Karnataka government is working to develop Bengaluru as an international smart city.

The CM said that the Karnataka government has a long-term plan to develop the city by building metros, good roads, suburban rail, and satellite towns.

Laying the foundation stone for the ‘Masti Bhavan’ devoted in honour of the renowned author Masti Venkatesha Iyengar, the CM said that the economy is being given an augmentation in the state.

He told the media that Bengaluru is the pride of Karnataka and India. The plan is not only to create buildings and infrastructure but also to promote literature, art, culture, sports, and more.

There should be a complete development, said CM Bommai. Speaking about boosting the literature in the state, he said that the new ‘Masti Bhavan’ will host all activities related to the author and carry forward his legacy to the following generations.

He said that Kannada literature has the distinction of bagging the highest number of Jnanpith awards in India.
