Recognising Kirloskar Brothers LimitedÂ’s capabilities to execute complex engineering projects amidst challenging environments, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) recently felicitated the fluid management company for completion of a project related to cooling piping systems at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) at Trivandrum.
ISRO Chairman AS Kiran Kumar felicitated Vishnu K, a KBL engineer associated with the project, on behalf of KBLÂ’s Marine & Defence segment.
The Hypersonic Wind Tunnel was recently commissioned ISRO at Trivandrum as part of its efforts to minimise cost of access to space.
The facility is the third-largest wind tunnel in the world, in terms of size and simulation capability . KBL designed, supplied, erected and commissioned the cooling piping system for this facility through its engineering partner, L&T.
The facility at Trivandrum has been indigenously designed, developed, and ‘Made in India’ with the support of over 500 Indian companies.
Kirloskar Brothers is a pump-manufacturing company with expertise in engineering and manufacture of systems for fluid management. Established in 1888 and incorporated in 1920, KBL is the flagship company of the $2.5-billion Kirloskar Group.
