The first unit of Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project (KNPP) is now generating about 200 MW, states a Power System Operation Corporation (PSOC) report. the KNPP’s first unit, which was on a test run, generated 165 MW. The KNPP’s first unit was reconnected to the grid late on October 25. By next November, the first unit of KNPP will start generating 500 MW and 1,000 MW by December, Tamil Nadu Electricity Minister Natham R Viswanathan stated.
