The Chennai Metro Rail has awarded the construction of depot works to Larsen and Toubro (L&T) at a cost of Rs 198.10 crores. The depot would be spread over a 26 hectares of land and would serve the purpose of berthing trains during non-operational hours and for carrying out various maintenance cycles. The construction work began early this month and would be completed in 36 months.
