The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) to defence conglomerate, Larsen & Toubro inaugurated the AM Naik Tower at its Powai campus. The smart and digitally advanced green building, which will house the company’s corporate offices, was opened on the occasion of L&T Group Chairman AM Naik completing over five decades with the company.

The tower provides the choicest modern amenities for its employees and visitors. With a total built-up area of 1.03 million sq ft, it will be hosting 4,500 group employees availing modern amenities such as a 300-seater hi-tech multipurpose hall, 800-seater food court, well-equipped gymnasium, digital library, immersive training rooms and a special lounge.

Speaking on the occasion, SN Subrahmanyan, CEO & Managing Director, Larsen & Toubro, said, “It is our fortune to have the visionary leadership of AM Naik, who have guided the company and its people to always achieve the unachievable. This newly inaugurated AM Naik Tower is a befitting acknowledgment of his stupendous 55 years of service and contributions to the group.”

“The tower will pave the way to bring in further synergies across businesses, group companies and corporate functions by hosting multiple group offices at one location,” added Subrahmanyan.

Located at the junction of Saki Vihar road and Jogeshwari Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR) in the central part of India’s business capital, the AM Naik Tower is a 15-storey building with two parking levels having about 800 car parking bays and an exquisite entrance lobby. It is built with one of the unique and advanced construction technologies by using composite steel structure with concrete-filled tubes resulting in faster construction, larger carpet area and low manpower dependency during the construction process.

This new tower possesses several smart features including an integrated security management system with the command-and-control centre, an internet of things (IoT)-based building management system, a mobile app for employees and facility managers, smart workplaces, digital ceilings with occupancy-based heating, ventilation, air conditioning and lighting control, smart cafeteria management, smart vertical transportation and smart parking management.
