Madhya Pradesh has readied its blueprint for the Rs 4000 crore worth Green Energy Corridor project spearheaded by Power Grid Corporation (PGCIL), as next the five years would add another 6,000 MW of renewable energy projects in its installed capacity. This will also include a mega solar power project of 750 MW capacity, reports the Business Standard.
The report says that German development Bank KfW has already tied up for a loan with the Centre for the project. “The first phase of the project will be of Rs 2,100 crore. KfW will give 40 per cent or Rs 840 crore, while another 40 per cent of the project will come from the Central Clean Energy Fund Grant and the rest 20 per cent will be contributed by the Madhya Pradesh government,” Manu Shrivastava, Principal Secretary of the renewable energy department told the publication.
In next five years Madhya Pradesh will add 2588 MW in solar, 2704 MW in wind, 282 MW in mini- and micro-hydel power projects and 271 MW through bio-mass, to the existing capacity. It will also have the countryÂ’s largest solar power plant of 750 MW to be developed by the lowest tariff offering private player.
