Local bodies and various state government departments stressed the necessities, requirements as well as their limitations in associating with the Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) for implementing the unified metropolitan transport authority (UMTA) at the two-day participatory workshop for creation of a framework for UMTA. The workshop, held in collaboration with international non-governmental organisation CODATU, was supported by Agence Francaise de Development (AFD).
