The container handling at New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) crossed 10,000 TEUs (20-foot equivalent units) mark in the first 75 days of the current financial year as against 8,917 TEUs in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal, recording a growth of 13 per cent. The port handled 40,158 TEUs of containers during 2010-11.
