Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) will spend Rs 622 crore on the extended Mumbai urban infrastructure projects, mainly in Thane district. It will build six flyovers, a creek-bridge at Vasai between Naigaon and Bhayendar and over 90-km of road network in Vasai, Thane, Kalyan, Dombivli, Ambernath, Karjat , Badlapur and Arnala.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, who is also the Chairman of MMRDA, approved these projects, said a statement issued by MMRDA. In the budget for 2013-14, MMRDA has also made a provision of Rs 20 crore for conducting feasibility surveys for eight new projects.
These include Shirgaon-Padgha-Titwala-Badlapur Link (37-km), Kalyan ring road (29.70-km), Bhiwandi ring road (12-km), Neral-Dasturi Naka-Matheran road (8-km), Khopoli bypass road (5.80-km), Mankoli to Motagaon-Dombivli Link Road (3.20-km), Revas-Karanja bridge (1.80-km) and development of NH-4 from Takka colony to Palaspe Phata (1.73-km).
