In a note released ahead of the festive season, Grégory Goba-Blé outlines how logistics providers like MOVIN Express prepare in advance by expanding infrastructure, optimising distribution networks, and reinforcing coordination across warehousing and transport to ensure seamless service during peak demand.

What does it take to steer one of India’s fastest-growing logistics companies through the country’s busiest festive season? For Grégory Goba-Blé, Head of UPS India and Director, MOVIN Express, the convergence of Dussehra (October 2) and Diwali (October 20) presents not just a challenge but a strategic opportunity to demonstrate operational agility and service excellence.

In a note released ahead of the festivals, Goba-Blé outlined how logistics providers like MOVIN prepare well in advance by expanding infrastructure, optimising distribution networks, and strengthening coordination across warehousing and transportation to ensure seamless service during peak demand.

“At MOVIN, we have taken proactive steps to meet these seasonal requirements. Our express transportation networks have been further optimised, and coordination has been strengthened across first-mile, mid-mile, and last-mile operations. This ensures that shipments move without disruption, even at peak volumes,” said Goba-Blé.

He has a point. In 2024, festive spending during Dussehra and Diwali crossed ₹3.2 trillion ($38.5 billion), according to the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT). Consumers invested in home refurbishments, electronics, vehicles, and seasonal goods. With GST 2.0 reforms lowering prices of items such as LED lights, kitchen appliances, and home décor by 8 to 18 per cent, spending is expected to surge even further this year.

This is where MOVIN’s B2B logistics model steps in, linking businesses across sectors to ensure timely delivery and inventory replenishment. Goba-Blé added that MOVIN’s operations are anchored in accuracy, predictability, and efficiency at scale, three pillars increasingly driven by technology.

“Technology continues to play a pivotal role in enhancing industry adaptability. Advanced forecasting tools, real-time visibility platforms, and automated processes are enabling faster, more reliable execution,” he noted.

As festive consumption expands beyond metros into tier-2 and tier-3 towns, MOVIN has invested in scalable and resilient networks designed to connect these emerging markets.

“This approach not only supports the country’s growing consumption story but also empowers businesses to capture new growth opportunities without compromise,” Goba-Blé said.

With robust infrastructure, advanced technology, and customer-centric planning, MOVIN aims to ensure that festive preparedness translates into tangible results for businesses, keeping shelves stocked and supply chains humming while consumers celebrate.
