Madhya Pradesh Urban Administration and Development Minister Babulal Gaur asked various municipal corporations in the state to adhere to timeline for completion of JNNRUM projects.

Specifically, the minister asked civic bodies of Bhopal, Indore and Jabalpur to complete Rs 2,652 crore JNNRUM works within time-limit.

Further, the state government approved six new proposals worth Rs 548 crore at a meeting of state-level steering committee of JNNURM mission.

He laid emphasis on developing tourism potential of cities while upgrading civic infrastructure.

In order to ensure that project work is not disturbed owing to lack of funds, he said there is a need to manage properly the share capital of urban bodies for union government-sponsored projects. He said that urban development works should be done with general consensus of public representatives.
