First phase of the Eastern Freeway of Mumbai city was inaugurated by the Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan. The cost for the first phase of the Eastern Freeway is stated to be at Rs 847-crore. More than 35,000 motorists will now be able to use the 14 km, elevated road from Orange Gate near CST station to Chembur in the Eastern suburb.
