For scanning luggage at Nagpur’s Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport an X-ray machine will be installed. Currently, the x-ray machine is inside the terminal building and operated by the airline officials. Now, the newly acquired machine will be placed just outside the entrance and manned by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Mihan India (MIL) stated.
The X-ray facility at the airport is in addition to the security measures at the airport for scanning luggage of passengers before they enter the terminal building.
This security step comes after suggestions from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS).
Mihan India is the Maharashtra’s project that comprises of developing the existing domestic airport of Nagpur as an international passenger and cargo hub airport, along with a Multi Product Special Economic Zone (SEZ), which is abutting to the boundary of the airport.
