The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has failed in its efforts to asphalt the city roads by Diwali in November. Hence the people of Nagpur will have to continue to face potholes and bad roads till December or even January, say media reports.
The NMC’s standing committee on October 7 approved Rs 30.35 crore for repairing 63 city roads. It would take at least 63 days for issuing work orders to the private contractors. The road works may start only by December, the NMC sources said.
For repair of interior roads in the city Rs 70 crore plan has been proposed. Work on the interior roads will start only by January 2014, the sources added.
