The National Aluminium Company (Nalco) plans to set up a 100 MW wind power plant with an investment of Rs 660 crore. The company plans to set up the project shortly in India, said Ansuman Das, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Nalco, addressing the 33rd annual general body meeting.

The Navratna PSU is also planning to establish a solar power facility in the country. It is further contemplating setting up a 14 MW wind power unit in mined out area of its bauxite reserves at Damanjodi in Koraput. The detailed feasibility report for the wind power project is ready.

The State government has provided land to the company to set up aluminum and aluminum alloy conductors unit in the Angul Aluminium Park.

The Nalco chief said the company is undertaking feasibility study to establish ground-mounted and roof-top solar power project at the Nalco Research and Technology Centre in Bhubaneswar and smelter plant and township in Angul.
