The initial cost for the proposed Chhatrapati Sambhajiraje Pune International Airport at Purandar is expected to be approximately Rs.2,000 crore, Vishwas Patil, managing director of the Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC), told the media. The land component would comprise a major chunk of the package, said Patil. Since the last three months or so, work for the proposed airport at Purandar has gained momentum after the Airports Authority of India (AAI) gave in-principal nod for the site.
