To strengthen it infrastructure, New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) has taken two major decisions: Finalisation of bids for constructing the berth No 18, and procuring two mobile harbour cranes. The proposed berth No 18 is likely to add a capacity of 5 million tonne per annum to the cargo handling at the port. DBM Geotechnics and Constructions has been awarded the work for constructing berth.
