The 467-MW Talcher Thermal Power Station (TTPS) linked to Odisha has been facing coal shortage for the last one month due to short supply from the Jagannath coal mine. The coal mine is on the verge of closure due to land constraints. Though it got clearance from the Center, Angul Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) is yet to hand over about 10 hectares of forest land. Several high-level meetings, chaired by the Chief Secretary and the Union Coal Secretary, have failed to help out the beleaguered coal mine.
