Planning Commission’s draft note on Energy for the 12th Plan period projected 216.339 million tonne of crude oil production during the five year period. Meanwhile, India missed crude oil and natural gas production target during the previous plan period. The anticipated achievement was 177 million tonne, ie, 14 per cent below the target.
