The report by the C Rangarajan headed committee, set up by the Cabinet to decide on premium payments for road projects awarded in the last two-three years on a public-private partnership basis, is expected to submit its report soon.

Rangarajan is the Chairman, Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister Office. The committeeÂ’s proposal will have an impact on most of the highway developers including GMR, L&T, IL&FS Transportation, Reliance Infra and IRB Infra.

Sources said that the road project developers are likely to be asked to opt for the proposal by a predefined cut-off date.
