Sagolmang Naga Students’ Association (SANSA) in Manipur has appealed for finishing the development and renovation work on Zelengbung-Sinakeithei road stretch at the earliest possible. SANSA explained about the problems being faced by commuters on the stretch. In a statement, Z Reithingam, president, SANSA informed that during an inspection visit, volunteers of the Association found that black topping from Zelenbung and Sinakeithei included in the work programme of 2010-11 under SPA is yet to be finished since June 2012.
Only 9 km, out of the 18 km long black topping work has been covered, which is also far from satisfaction and expectation to the public. Due to poor quality of work, the 9-Km long distance of the road which had been covered so far has already been worn out with innumerable potholes causing untold inconveniences to the people, Reithingam said.
