Financial support would be sought from the Union government to develop all ports, Karnataka State Minister for Ports Baburao Chinchanasur said. A proposal for Rs 200 crore for port development was submitted to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari at a meeting held at Goa and a detailed discussion on the issue would be carried on in Delhi, said Chinchanasur. Infrastructure development would be speeded up as soon as the Ministry for Environment gives its permission, he said. Tenders would be floated soon for the construction of the Pavinkurve port in Uttara Kannda district, he added.
