The perennial power crisis in Karnataka may end soon as major thermal units were assured of constant supply of coal. This is expected to increase power generation by 2,300 MW in the state.
As per the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL) and the Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL), supply of coal from the company has been increased by about 50 per cent.
