Power Minister Reaffirms Investor Confidence in India’s Infrastructure and Energy Agenda

At a meeting with senior US business leaders in New Delhi, Power Minister Manohar Lal emphasised India’s achievements in strengthening the power, housing and urban sectors through innovation, investment and inclusive growth.

Union Minister for Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal, met members of the US‑India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) and senior business leaders in New Delhi on Wednesday, reaffirming global investor confidence in India’s infrastructure and energy transition roadmap.

The minister highlighted the Government of India’s ambitious national missions across energy transition, urban infrastructure development, affordable housing under PM‑AWAS Yojana, and digital infrastructure expansion. He reiterated the country’s achievements in strengthening its power, housing and urban sectors through innovation, investment and inclusive growth.

Manohar Lal noted that the global investor community continues to express confidence in India’s future, and appreciated the strong response from USISPF members and business leaders. Drawing from the Indian ethos of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is one family) he emphasised India’s commitment to shared growth, shared responsibility and a shared future.

Discussions during the meeting covered a wide range of strategic issues, including the affordability of green hydrogen, collaboration in transmission infrastructure between India and the US, exports of solar modules from India, investment by US companies in advanced energy storage solutions, and reliable power supply for India’s expanding data centre ecosystem.

The visiting delegation included prominent USISPF members John Chambers, Founder & CEO of JC2 Ventures and Chairman of USISPF; Mukesh Aghi, President & CEO of USISPF; Prabhakar Raghavan, Chief Technologist at Google; Jack P. Williams, Senior Vice‑President at Exxon Mobil; and Vikram Kapur, Group President of ReNew. Their presence underscored the strategic depth of bilateral engagement and the growing role of private‑sector partnerships in advancing sustainable development and energy security.

Both sides acknowledged the growing momentum in India–US energy cooperation, reflecting decades of diplomatic partnership and a shared commitment to sustainable development and energy security.
