Elected members of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will be part of the Parivartan unit which will support the planning and implementation of smart city projects. The cell will have people from different sectors who will help the administration to carry out civic projects. Anil Pawar, deputy municipal commissioner, and a coordinator for the project, said, ‘People working in various sectors of urban planning will be a part. They will share best practices of different cities and countries to deal with issues Pune is facing.’ The unit will be a joint platform for industries, academia and the civic administration. The civic body has already joined hands with Pune City Connect, an organisation of corporates working for the development of Pune. It will play a key role with PMC in forming the unit.
