Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal on January 16 urged the Union Minister Jairam Ramesh to ensure speedy completion of all formalities related to construction of rural link roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojna in the state.
Badal called on Ramesh at his office in Krishi Bhawan in Delhi and sought early release Rs 31 crore under Phase IV of Integrated Watershed Management Program for Kandi Development, besides Rs 91 crore as balance under MNREGA.
To ensure smooth movement of heavy vehicular traffic on link roads across the state, Badal asked for sanction of 385 kms through routes with 5.5 m width and 707 kms link roads of 3.75 m width in the state. Badal said Ramesh gave him a positive response.
