Quicom is a Transit-Oriented Development project, one of the largest unsolicited business model proposal for Mumbai to redevelop all 114 railway stations across local railway network under Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) mode. This was duly conceived, designed, and developed only after an official announcement as a proposed policy in Railway Budget in 2010 for private participation in redevelopment of railway stations under PPP mode specially consist allotted car parking facility as an important tool, and will be taken for early clearance in 100 days. QUICOM officially submitted to concern authorities in Railways and Maharashtra State government for further consideration on 1 January 2011.
And at present as a promoter, we are looking for a big and reputed developer to join with us in proposed project as joint venture partner to carry forward this project more quickly, and transform in to reality. It will create the highest marketable retail space across Mumbai on MFC model, which does not require land acquisition. Project will generate huge capital for railways without their investment. And there are many more direct, indirect and hidden benefits to government, Railways, commuters and deve-loper. Awaiting quick and bold political decision of Morp-hing Mumbai into Shanghai!
QUICOM system was our first innovative solutions which can help Mumbai's chocked suburban rail system to increase train frequency and reduce commute time to almost 50 per cent but more than seven years has been passed no imple-mentation by MRVC without any reasons.
And idea remains in cold storage. After taking a successful much exited trial taken by MRVC in 2006, trial is an indirect endorsement to the Quicom system. And Quicom system does not attract much changes and investment and can be implemented in same available infrastructure very quickly. It is unfortunate that such public-oriented projects under PPP mode are ignored by Railways.
It is a general view that Railway has to change its mindset and approach should be more positive and professional, towards such public-oriented PPP projects.
Quicom« and Quicom projects under PPP mode will make commuters' journey more comfortable and safe.
