In Kochi, repairs have been started on Tripunithura SN Junction-PuthiyaÂkavu road by the State Public Works Department. The road was dug up for Kerala Water Authority works. And it has turned into a nightmarish expÂerÂience to both motorists and pedestrians alike. EmergenÂcy pothole filling work too is in progress after which the 4-km stretch will be resurfaced.
Major potholes are being filled using concrete mix. ItÂ’s been more than two months since the road was trenched for laying a new pipeline. Neither KWA nor PWD was able to complete the work on time. KWAÂ’s assurance that the road would be restored soon after the pipe laying work also did not materialize.
This made life miserable for pedestrians, commuters and merchants. Both agencies blamed each other for the delay in completing the works in time. PWD has started emergency pothole filling of the Palarivattom-KumaÂrÂapuÂram Road, Park Avenue, Foreshore Road and Banarjee Road.
