Rapid Metrorail Gurgaon (RMGL) is about to complete work on the metro rail project in Gurgaon and it expects to commission the project in June.
The project concessionaire completed work on five out of six metro stations (except Gateway Tower) and has also finished work on signaling, electrification and laying of tracks. Four of the five trains to be pressed into service have arrived at the site from China too.
Once the entire work is finished, the Northern Railways would conduct a safety inspection, after which a 30-day service trials on the 6.1-km-long track will be carried out to iron out remaining operational issues, if any.
Before the service is opened to the public, the railways safety nod is mandatory.
It may be noted that the Rapid Metro service was supposed to start in January this year. Later, the launch was pushed to April.
