Role of Great Sports in the Sports Sector

Great Sports Infra has made some remarkable contributions to the sports sector through its products and services.

The limited extent of proper sports facilities and the inability to access them within reasonable distance, deprives many talented sports persons from fulfilling their potential. This drives Great Sports Infra (GSI) to work towards creating better sports infrastructure, with the theme ¨Taking Sport to the People¨. While we work towards providing world-class sports infrastructure at the highest level, we also add the element of innovation to provide ¨smart¨ sports infra that needs only a modest investment.

GSI has made some remarkable contributions to the sports sector through its products and services. Till date, we have installed over 1 crore sq ft of sports surfaces across South Asia. We have executed some of the prestigious projects like four projects for the 35th National Games of India, Kerala, India´s first ever FieldTurf artificial grass 9-hole golf course for Parkcity Sporting Ventures (Hamoni Golf Camp), India´s largest indoor sports flooring from Tarkett sports for the Government of Gujarat (SAMA), World Military Games, 35 Futsal courts from SnapSports for the Government of Maldives, 2 IAAF standard synthetic athletic tracks from Porplastic for the Government of Mauritius and very recently a sub-surface aeration and vacuum powered drainage technology from SubAir for the Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru.

GSI is the first recall in Sports Infra for the following:

• First to install a FIFA-standard FieldTurf artificial turf field in South Asia (2005)
• First to install a Synthetic Track from Porplastic for an Obstacle Course for the World Military Games in Hyderabad (2007)
• First ever FIFA international match in India (Argentina vs Venezuela) played on GSI-installed artificial turf Field in 2011.
• First to install a FIFA-certified field in South Asia (2009)
• First to introduce Sub-surface aeration technology from SubAir for sports fields (2011)
• First to install over 15 FIFA-size artificial grass fields in South Asia (2015)
• First to install over 6 million sq ft of artificial turf in South Asia (2015)
• First to install over 5 lakh sq ft of artificial turf on a sloped rooftop (2014)
• First to install 35 Futsal courts in 35 islands with modular sports flooring from SnapSports for the Government of Maldives (2015)

We are constantly working towards ´taking sport to the people´ by enabling reach to every corner of the country with the creation of multi-sport and multipurpose facilities that can be set up at affordable costs and with a lesser installation time. By doing this we are making it convenient for the general public to access these facilities and use them extensively.

We continue to introduce game-changing technologies to the industry, the latest being modular seating galleries in stadiums from Alcor (which can cut the costs of constructing galleries by over 60 per cent) and membrane-based domes for quick, easy and less expensive indoor sports facilities from DUOL.
