For construction of four main roads, repairing of road dividers and inter-locking works in Varanasi, a fund of Rs 158.28 lakh had been approved from infrastructure fund of UP Awas and Vikas Parishad on November 17.
The departmental engineers concerned have been instructed to complete the works in a stipulated time and maintain quality. The fund would be utilised to improve the infrastructure and traffic in the city. Rs 36.58 lakh would be spent on the construction of 133.5 metre of road from Durgakund to Kabirnagar and repairing of 492 metre of road divider.
For interlocking of tiles on both sides of pathway along 877 metres of road in Kabirnagar Rs 47.61 lakh would be spent. For repairing of 120 metre of road and interlocking in an area of 1,268 square metre on both sides of the road from Nati Imli crossing to Bharat Milap crossing and improvement of drain (804 metres), Rs 37.44 lakh would be spent.
