In Kochi, flyover will be built at Palarivattom Junction on National Highway 66 (previously NH 47) at a cost of Rs 72.6 crore. The Kerala government has given its sanction and the announced project value includes land acquisition cost also.

On November 6, the government stated this in a release. The Roads and Bridges Development Corporation of Kerala (RBDC-K) had earlier forwarded the detailed project report (DPR), prepared by the State government consultancy Kitco, for the flyover.

The State government has also accorded sanction for constructing flyovers at Vyttila and Kundanoor junctions in the city. The four flyovers – Palarivattom, Edappally Vyttila and Kundanoor – in Kochi have been included in the SPEEID (Sustainable and Planned Effort to Ensure Infrastructure Development) Kerala programme and none of them will have tolls.
