A net loss of Rs 123.63 crore has been reported by the Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) for the quarter ended September compared with a net profit of Rs 297.20 crore a year earlier, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The loss was mainly due to the high depreciation and interest costs, the company said.
Interest costs almost doubled to Rs 56.36 crore from Rs 30 crore in the same quarter last year. Depreciation costs also jumped 10.5 per cent to Rs 217.14 crore.
