Gamesa Corporación Tecnológica SA, Spain’s largest wind power equipment maker, has appointed Morgan Stanley India to scout for wind power assets in India. Gamesa, which is setting up a wind equipment facility in Chennai, expects to increase India’s contribution to six per cent of its total incremental power generation by 2013. Besides India, Gamesa has identified Turkey, China and Britain as growth markets in its 2011-13 business plan.

Gamesa is positive on India’s regulatory regime as the government provides incentives for wind power generation. It aims at 10 per cent contribution of renewable energy sources by 2015 and the national renewable energy policy is currently under consideration in India.
