Siemens Secures ₹7.73 Billion Contract for Nagpur Metro’s Advanced Signalling and Telecom Systems

Spanning 32 stations across a 43.8 km network, the project will deploy Siemens’ Metro Rail technologies to boost train frequency, enhance passenger experience, and uphold top-tier safety standards, the company said.

Siemens Ltd has secured two separate orders from Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation (MAHA-Metro) worth ₹7.73 billion.

The contracts cover the design, supply, installation and commissioning of communication-based train control (CBTC) signalling and advanced telecommunication systems for Phase 2 of the Nagpur Metro Rail Project, including upgrades to Phase 1. The execution timeline is set at 42 months.

Thanking MAHA-Metro for the contract, Rajeev Joisar, Head of Mobility Business at Siemens, stated: “The project will contribute significantly to the sustainable urban development of Nagpur. It further demonstrates Siemens’ ability to deliver end-to-end mobility technologies that integrate automation, digitalisation and sustainability for India’s urban future.”
