The Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Sarvey Sathyanarayana has said that the six-laning work on Gurgaon-Kotputli stretch on National Highway No 8 has been delayed. The main reasons for delay are due to slow progress during construction by Concessionaire, delay in the land acquisition, delay in Forest Clearance, delay in removal of religious and other structures & additional works in the project scope owing to public representations etc.
National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) is constantly monitoring the progress of the works by holding regular meetings with concessionaire, supervision consultant and the State Government officials concerned.
The NHAI has withdrawn Letter of Acceptance (LOA), due to land acquisition problems, in case of Goa/Karnataka border to Panaji in the State of Goa; Maharashtra/Goa border – Panaji-Goa/Karnataka border in the State of Goa and Cherthalai to Ochira in the State of Kerala stretches.
