Sunand Sharma, Country President, Alstom India & South Asia and Chairman, Alstom India, has been elected as the President of the ‘Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry’ (IFCCI) at the 151st General Council Meeting of IFCCI held in Mumbai. Sharma was associated as Vice-President with IFCCI in his previous role.

As President, Sharma will head the leading bilateral business organisation having more than 450 active members (both French and Indian companies) from across sectors. In this role, Sharma will ensure the continued success of the organisation towards the development and implementation of both innovative and established strategies for successful business outcomes.

Being elected to serve as president of Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry is an honour according to Sharma. "Throughout my time spent supporting this organisation, I have witnessed IFCCI grow and accomplish amazing things. I am looking forward to facilitating even more growth and organisational sustainability in the coming years," he says.

Established in 1977, IFCCI aims to facilitate and promote networking within the French and Indian business community and also provides services to members of IFCCI as well as non-members to develop their business in France and India. IFCCI is also an active member of the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry French Abroad (UCCIFE), a French organisation which represents 114 French Chambers of Commerce in 78 countries.
