Suzlon has unveiled major organisational changes as it gears up to expand into wind, solar, battery storage, and new technologies under its Suzlon 2.0 vision.
The current CEO JP Chalasani has been elevated to the company’s newly constituted Group Executive Council (GEC). Chalasani will work closely with Vinod Tanti, Chairman & Managing Director, and Girish Tanti, Executive Vice Chairman, in shaping and driving key strategic initiatives. He will continue to mentor senior leadership through his deep sectoral knowledge, maintain long‑term partnerships with stakeholders, and incubate new business opportunities. Chalasani remains designated as a key managerial personnel (KMP) and will report to the Chairman & Managing Director.
Ajay Kapur takes charge as the new Group CEO to drive Suzlon’s transformation from a wind energy solutions provider to a full‑stack renewable energy conglomerate. The Pune‑based renewable energy major has tasked Kapur, with over 36 years of experience and a decade as CEO of large listed entities, to scale its businesses and lead the next phase of growth.
Girish Tanti, Executive Vice Chairman, said, “We have outlined our intent to move beyond wind to a full‑stack renewable energy solutions company. The new structure, JP Chalasani’s elevation, and Ajay’s appointment as Group CEO are key elements of this transition.”
Chalasani, now Member of the Group Executive Council, added, “With this new organisational structure and leadership expansion, we are best positioned to leverage the growing renewable energy opportunity in India and overseas.”
Ajay Kapur, Group CEO, said, “I am honoured to build on this foundation to drive sustainable growth, operational excellence, and long‑term value creation. The opportunity to contribute to the world’s energy transition at scale is both a responsibility and a privilege.”
Under the new organisational architecture, the GEC will steer Suzlon’s long‑term growth agenda, while an Executive Management Council led by the Group CEO will drive transformation and sustainable expansion.
