In Uttarakhand, the State Planning Commission has proposed 99 km of all-weather roads with as many as 14 tunnels that would reduce distance and save precious time for travelers. In the state, the Himalayas are bleeding after the last June flash floods, which killed many and washed away properties.

Jharkhand’s Gumla awaits all-weather roads
In Jharkhand, hundreds of hamlets and villages are still devoid of all-weather roads in the Naxalite-affected Gumla district, though roads are being constructed in the township. Despite the ongoing ninth phase of the PGMGSY, remote habitations - both small and big - are awaiting road connectivities.
MP gets Centre’s nod to construct 4,675 km roads
Under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY), the Union government has sanctioned 4,675 km long 1,521 new roads costing Rs 1,780 crore to Madhya Pradesh. Following construction of these roads, 1,600 habitats will be linked by all-weather roads with development block, tehsil and district levels, an official release issued in Bhopal said.
